Follow me on my personal journey to healthy and normal blood sugar levels. My name is Charlie and I am a type 1 diabetic, I control my diabetes with an insulin pump and a Libre. I was given the usual dietary advice upon diagnosis, which included alot of carbs and I don't need to say, my blood sugars spiked like crazy. That is when I found DR Bernstein and read his book, it made much more sense than the advice I had been given. I now follow the good Doctors advice to control my sugar levels. I then came across a Facebook group called Typeonegrit, where I also learnt the best way to control diabetes was through a LCHF diet, it was this group of people that really helped me on my way to normal levels, they gave me the advice and inspiration that I needed and they keep me working hard day in and day out.

Cereal...

One thing I have been missing is the convenience of cereal in the morning and it would also make a nice change from eggs and bacon. I started searching the internet last night for some low carb cereal that I could make. There were quite a few recipes but they each required quite a bit of preparation. I have been unwell today and all I could face was something easy.

I found some mixed nuts and put some in a cup with a bit of desiccated coconut, then splashed some almond milk over it and followed that with some sweetener. It tasted divine. It tasted better than the cereal I used to buy prior to LCHF. This will certainly be a regular in my diet. I'll be sure to upload a photo when I make some more.
